School's History
Eastside opened its doors in 1978 as Northside Vocational Education Center, and students had the choice of these programs of study: Auto, Diesel, Machine Tool Technology, Industrial Mechanics, Electricity, Welding, Horticulture, Graphic Arts, and Health Sciences. Like the majority of technical centers across Kentucky, the school was operated and managed by the Kentucky Department of Education. Tom Wilson was the principal from 1978 to 1999.
Fayette County Public Schools took over control in 1987 and renamed the school Eastside Technical Center. Some programs moved to Southside Tech and new programs were added.
Eastside is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
